Idolphus Frank Holmes, Jr - 1/8/56 - 2/19/11. Graduate from Mattie T. Blount Class of 1974. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was honorable discharged. He was preceded in death by his father, Idolphus Frank Holmes, Sr.; grand-parents, Eddie and Linnie Holmes, Daniel Dozier; aunt, Rachel Wilson; and devoted great aunt, Lillie Dortch.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted mother, Daisy (Jerome) Allen; three brothers, Clay (Juanita) Sigler of Daleville, AL, Donald (Valerie) Holmes of Jacksonville, AL and Aaron (Tarsha) Key of Prichard, AL; three sisters, Angela (Charles) Smith of Mobile, AL, Tamara (Nathaniel) Walker of Cincinnati, OH and Ericka Key of Mobile, AL; seven uncles; three aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, one devoted Tina Dilworth of Prichard, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery on Mobile Street.
