She was preceded in death by her parents, Harper L. Dunaway, Sr. and Freddie Rushing Dunaway; one brother, Harper L. Dunaway, Jr.; and one sister, Laquita Dunaway Bass.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Waits, Sr.; three children, Joseph J. Waits, Jr. (Kerri), Ryan Waits, and Michael Waits (Melissa); two sisters, Betty Dunaway Boyd (John) and Gertrude Dunaway Hoover; one brother, Bailey Daniel Dunaway (Abby); seven grandchildren, Joe Waits III, Julian Waits, Jonah Waits, Harley Waits, Skyler Waits, Jackson Tanner, and Lillie Kate Waits; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Monday, April 15, 2013 from St. Dominic Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Monday at the Church. Graveside services and interment will be held at 3 P.M. on Monday in Roseland Park Cemetery, Hattiesburg, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
