He was preceded in death by his father Perry "Hop" Jones and his brother Jerry Jones.
He is survived by his mother Doris "Dot" Jones, his two sons, Gerald N. "Bullit" Jones, Trapper Jones, and his granddaughter Piper Jones. Nick was born in Birmingham, AL. He was a graduate of B.C. Rain High School in Mobile, Class of 1968, where he played basketball. he retired from the AL State Docks Terminal Railway. He was an avid cyclist and would pedal upwards of 3,000 miles a year. He enjoyed playing tennis and living the lake life on lake Logan Martin off the Coosa River in Talladega, AL. There will be private family services at Pine Crest Cemetery and Lake Logan Martin, dates to be determined. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to one's favorite charity.
