James Walter Matthews

James Walter Matthews "Rebound", age 58, born and raised in Mobile, AL passed away on Thursday August 26, 2021. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps serving from 1981 to 1986. James enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was a proud member of the Alabama chapter of Leathernecks for many years. James was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Matthews. He is survived by his Mother, Louise Matthews; Daughter, Allison Matthews (William) ; Son, Jacob Matthews (Mallery); Brother, Paul Matthews and Girlfriend; Karen French. James loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, and they will love and cherish his memory for forever, his grandchildren include Emma Grace, Hazel Grace, Paisley Rose, Olivia Ann, and Aleczander Walter: He leaves behind a host of cherished family members and friends and an entire chapter of leathernecks. Visitation will be held on Saturday September 11, 2021. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a chapel service immediately following.
