

Bro. James William Parker – A native of Mobile, AL, exchanged time for eternity on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the age of eighty-eight years old. He confessed Christ at an early age when he united with Shiloh Baptist Church. He later united with Revelation Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. Brother Parker served in the U.S. Army in World II and received a Purple Heart. He was an avid fisherman and would go as often as he could. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Grace Parker; brothers, Harry Hardy and Frederick Parker; and step-son, Homer Royals. He is survived by a loving and devoted wife of over forty years, Lula Dale Parker; two children, Barbara Wright James of Mobile, AL and William James of Wisconsin; four step-children, Edward (Geraldine) Royals and Adell Morrow, both of Detroit, MI, Diane (Arthur) McMillion and Vincent Royals, both of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Mary Louise Gullette of Mobile, AL and Helen (Warren) Davis of Chicago, IL; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Devoted brother-in-law, Frank Lash; devoted son-in-law, Dr. Arthur J. McMillion. Funeral services will be held from Revelation Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
