Jeffrey Charles Groom, 77, a native of Ontario, Canada and long-time resident of Mobile, AL passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024 with his three children by his side. Jeff centered his life around family and loved his family and friends unconditionally. Jeff (affectionately known to some as Chopper) liked to have a good time and never met a stranger. His interactions with people were kind and left them feeling like they mattered and were cared for. Jeff enjoyed all sports, especially hockey and golf.
Jeff is survived by his three children, Leslie Groom Elmore (Billy), Julie Anne Groom (Denise) and Brian William Groom (Melanee). He was a proud grandfather to Jacob Holberg, Ben Holberg, Annie Groom, Will Groom and Charlie Groom. He was also a loving brother to Judy Neece, Paul Lickman and David Lickman.
Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved wife Deborah Ann Groom and his parents Willoughby Groom and Cecilia Lickman.
A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10:00 am. The service will be conducted by Terry Cagle.
