Jesse G. Gibbs – a native of Clarke County, AL and a resident of Mobile since 1970 died December 5, 2010. He was 87 years old. He was a veteran of World War II during which he served as a Radio Operator in the Army Air Force in Australia, New Guinea, the Philippine Island, and Saipan. He was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Molly A. Gibbs of Mobile; children, Larry W. Gibbs of Atlanta, GA and Linda K. Gibbs of Mobile; four grandchildren, Sean P. Gibbs of Tampa, FL, Kevin W. Gibbs of Whittier, NC, Lisa Gibbs of Clermont, FL, and Will Ward of Mobile, AL; three great-grandchildren of Tampa; four living sisters, Mildred Ratcliffe of Pine Hill, AL, Jean Reeves of Jackson, AL, Faye Bumpers of Mobile, and Patricia Haskew of Perdue Hill, AL.
