John "Jim" Cherry

John "Jim" Cherry - a 95 year-old native of Leeds, Alabama and longtime resident of Mobile passed away at his home on Monday, February 14, 2022. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and retired from Bell South as a cable repairman after more than 40 years of service. Mr. Cherry was a member of the Abba Temple Shrine and was a Mason.

Mr. Cherry was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Betty Cherry. He is survived by his children, Dennis R. Cherry (Nancy), David R. Cherry (Crysti), and Dawn R. Lursen (Joe); 7 grandchildren, 13 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. A second visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham.
