John was born on August 26, 1977 in Mobile, AL to James “Jimmy” and Janet (Crosby) Dolan. On May 29, 2009, he married Sonya Leigh Franklin. They have two children, Erin Leigh (10) and John Franklin (8).
John was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy, and his mother, Janet. He is survived by his wife Sonya, his two children, Erin and John Franklin, his step-father Randy McCurley, his brothers Jason, Jeff(Nicole) and Jeff McCurley (Cathy), and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
John was a devoted family man, he loved his wife and children immensely. He was outgoing and loved to listen to live music. John loved to hunt and he loved guitars. He felt his best in the woods or on the river.
He was a Master Plumber and owner of J & S Plumbing. John took pride in his work and he could fix just about anything! John enjoyed helping people. He enjoyed his many friends and loved to make them smile. John was proud of his service time with the Navy.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 4th, 2021, at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL. Receiving will take place from 12-2 p.m. Service will be at 2:00pm with a grave side service immediately following. Please remember face masks are required.
The Shoulder held a special place in John’s heart for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at theshoulder.org or for his children’s college fund. Checks may be made out to College Counts 529 Fund and mailed to Sonya Dolan PO Box 1644 Daphne, AL 36526.
