

John R. (aka Ducky, little Pip) Pipkin, age 74, born March 7, 1937, a native of Goodway, AL and life-long resident of Mobile County, AL passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, in a local hospital after a long illness. He was an electrician, then well-known electrical contractor, dba Pipkin Electric Service, Inc. He loved God, his family and friends, his dogs, playing golf, western movies and Bama football. For years he helped organize Abba Shrine Temple’s golf tournaments, to benefit burn victims. He was an extremely loving husband and father, and friend to many. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Pipkin, his mother Hattie Booker Pipkin; two brothers, James Carlton (Susie) Pipkin, Memphis, TN; Samuel Ralph (Stella) Pipkin, Saraland, AL; two sisters, Lois Pipkin (Bud) Dunnan and Kitty Pipkin (Jim) Sills, Jr. and one daughter, Toni Pipkin Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dale Lee Pipkin; one daughter, Kim Pipkin (Paul) Gwin; one grandson, David (April) Blum; two great-grandsons, Kyle and Darren; one step great-grandson, Cody and one step great-granddaughter Jazzmunn; two brother-in-laws, Jim Sills , Jr., Mobile, AL, Bob Lee, Dothan, AL, one sister-in-law, Susan Lee, Ponchatoula, LA; one uncle, Samuel M. (Carlene) Booker, Peterman, AL; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 12 noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Andy Higgins, Leon Wildberger, Homer Brownlee, Jr., Kevin Caddell, Rick Pipkin and Timmy Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle C. Pipkin and Bob Lee.
