Johnnie Ray Jackson, 98, passed away on March 3, 2026, in Theodore, Alabama. She was born on September 2, 1927, in Oil City, Louisiana. Johnnie grew up in Belin, New Mexico and Miami, Arizona. She moved to Mobile County in 1962. Johnnie retired from the Mobile County School System in 1989.
Johnnie is survived by her two sons, Charlie Howard Jackson of Theodore, Alabama and James Robert Jackson (Judi) of Carthage, Mississippi; her grandson, Jonathan Renner Jackson (Lauren); and her great grandson James Renner Jackson of Kiln, Mississippi.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Hutchinson; her parents, James and Reba Merritt; her grandparents, John and Mary Mosby; and her husband, James Ralph Jackson.
Visitation for Johnnie will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile with a graveside service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
