Kenneth Arthur Marks was born December 23rd, 1940 and passed away September 1st, 2021 at the age of 80. Ken was a native of Coraopolis, PA. After graduation he joined the Coast Guard as a Medical Corpsman and was stationed in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from The University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He began his career as Medical Technologist at Providence Hospital and later became a Clinical Pathologist at Mobile Infirmary.
In his personal life he enjoyed music and often played guitar while listening to his favorite artists. On the weekends he could be found playing football with his two sons, and later became a local high school football referee. He also continued in the discipline of Karate where he achieved the level of black belt. Reading was also both a leisure and an opportunity for learning in the areas of natural science, medicine, and science fiction, which he enjoyed with his brother through the years. Ken also enjoyed playing video games, watching movies, and cooking with his two daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Joseph Marks and Dorothy Regina Newell Marks, his brother Donald Marks and his son Kenneth Erick Marks. He is survived by his brother Robert Francis Marks (Bernadette Servati Marks), son Ryan Sean Marks, from his first marriage (Virginia Blakely Dueitt), daughters Lauren Ashley Perez (Chris Perez) and Jordan Eliza Jobson (Daniel Jobson), from his second marriage (Sandra Sellers Fondren), and grandson Rowan Kelly Perez, along with his four nephews (Jeff, Brian, Scott, and Matthew Marks) and their wives and children.
A private family funeral will be held 9:00 - 11:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery on Tuesday Sept. 14th. Those who wish to express condolences may send flowers to Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, AL 36605.
