Leo S. Diemert, Jr. was born in Mobile, Alabama to the late Leo S. Diemert, Sr. and Mary Barr Dimert. Leo, Jr. attended McGill Institute. In 1962 upon graduation he married Regina Sterling. Shortly after marriage Leo joined the Navy, they moved to California and started their family. In 1962 Leo went to Maryland to be stationed and serve on Nuclear Submarines around the world. He served until 1969. Leo and his family then moved back to Mobile.
Leo is survived by one sibling, Joseph F. Diemert . He also had one sister Janice Ada Ramsey that is deceased. Leo has five surviving children; Leo S. Dimertt, III, Jeffery Thomas Diemart, Eric Diemart, Mark Ashton Diemert and Gina Mia Huff.
Leo worked in the private sector as an instrumentation expert for Campbell Piping and for Instrumentation Services. During that time he met and married the love of his life, Shellie Stein. She is also deceased. Leo lived out the last years of his life at William F. Green, VA Home in Bay Minette, AL. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you for the wonderful care they provided. The playing of Taps and a staff Salute that was provided upon Leo's exit for the facility was very special and very much appreciated.
