

On 23 December, 2014, Reverend Lynwood Henderson became "absent from the body in order to be present with the Lord" (II Cor 5:8) and entered into the full presence of Jesus Christ through his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lorene (Gunnell), parents, Ray and Margie Henderson, sisters, Ethyl Henderson and Goldene Strange, brother, Everett Henderson.
Lynwood was born in rural Arkansas County on October 29, 1924. After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University (B.A.), and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), he ministered to multiple churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama. After moving to Mobile he was actively involved with Widowed Persons Service where he served two years as President of the board of directors.
He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Amaral (Lee), four sons, Ken (Sue), David, Mark (Susan), and Boyce (Jerry), four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Radney Funeral Home, 3165 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 2:00-4:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014. A second visitaiton will be held at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart, Arkansas on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Almyra, AR on Tuesday, December 30, at 10 a.m.
