

Mabel Pauline Martin Parker – A native of Chilton County, AL and a resident of Mobile County, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at 4:07 a.m. in a local hospital. Mabel Pauline was born October 23, 1919, to Joseph E. “Jodie” Johnston Martin and Mollie Pearl Sellers. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful charter member of Victory Assembly of God in Eight Mile since 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Harry “Buck” Parker; her son, Doyle Edwin Parker; her parents; two sisters, Minnie Martin Latham and Louise Martin Lawrence; four brothers, Johnny Robert Martin, Henry Jackson “Jack” Martin, Joseph Eugene “Junior” Martin, Jr., and Ernest Hobson Martin. Mrs. Parker is survived by her sons, Roy Edward (Eugenia) Parker and Harry Loren (Debra) Parker, both of Mobile; two daughters, Sarah Jo (Paul) Anderson of St. George, UT and Linda Diana Jones of Shelby County, AL; grandsons, David Randall (Shannon) Burrage of Pocatello, ID, Ryan Wayne Mellies of Salt Lake City, UT, Jeffrey Wade Parker (Renee) and Brandon Doyle (Shaleigh) Parker, both of Mobile; granddaughters, Diana Dawn (Norman) Cropper of Las Vegas, NV, Debra Lynn (Ronald) Larsen of South Jordan, UT, Shauna Mendoza of Gilbert, AZ, Tracy Yvette (Terry Wayne, Jr.) Pitts, and Christy Michelle (Chris) Davidson, both of Mobile, Ginger Leigh Meeks of Houston, TX, Anna Delaine (Bryon) Thornton of Shelby County, AL, and Amanda Darlene Smith of Chilton County, AL; great-granddaughters, Haley Nicole Davidson, Taylor Victoria Pitts, Emileigh Parker, Briana Leigh Meeks, Jessi and Lesli Thornton, Amber, Melissa and Diana Baldwin, Melanie, Megan, Miranda, and Mariah Burrage, and Michele Majors; great-grandsons, Brandon Ghentry Meeks (Jessica), Nicholas Christopher Davidson, Dustin Burrage, Michael Flitton, Steven Flitton, Kolton Larsen, Matthew Mendoza, and Mark Mendoza; great-great-grandsons, Jayden and Carter Meeks; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Marzelle Martin and Earline Courtney Martin; many nieces, nephews, step-granddaughters, step-grandsons, and other relatives. Special thanks and recognition is given to Becky Nicholson, a faithful, loving and devoted caregiver, companion and friend who greatly enriched Mabel Pauline’s life. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Nicholson and Rev. Bill Maag officiating.
