Margaret Thompson Shoemake – a 97 year-old native of Ovett, Mississippi and longtime resident of Wilmer passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Mrs. Shoemake retired from the Mobile County Public School System after 40 years of service as a bus driver for Wilmer Elementary School. She was a longtime dedicated active member of Camellia Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Mrs. Shoemake was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Chester Shoemake, and 10 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Shoemake and Myra Shoemake Gartman, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held from Camellia Missionary Baptist Church in Semmes on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
