Marua Luisa Zapata Chunga, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016. She was a native of Piura, Peru and resident of Mobile, Alabama for over 30 years. She was a faithful member of St. Catherine Catholic Church Hispanic Ministry. She was a member of the Hispanic choir and a lecture for many years. She was oe of the oldest and very well known member of the Peruvian community. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerardo Domingo Zapata and Rosario Chunga and one son, Cesar Augusto Alba. Maria is suvived by her children, Norma Esther Alaba Zapata, Luis Eduardo Alaba Zapata and Anita Arca. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosa Graciela Mauricio, Carlos Rodrigo Zapata, Rosa Isabel Zapata, Jose Armando Zapata and Luis Gerardo Zapata, ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
