Martha Carol Matheney Baria - born in Memphis, Tennessee, Nov 3, 1948, died Sunday January 8, 2012 at 10:22 a.m. at a local hospital. She was the Proverbs 31 woman who loved God with all her heart and attended church regularly. She was educated in the Satsuma public school system and attended Yancy State Jr. College. She worked the last 20 + years at Premier Medical. She is survived by one son, Mitchell Lamar Baria; two grandsons, Stephen Baria and Jesse Rhodes; parents, Rev. Sherod Chapin Matheney, Jr. and Iverene Helen Laird Matheney; sister, Helen Ann Taylor (Robert Dale); brother, James Michael Matheney; many cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 13, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
