
Marvin Irvin an 86 year old native of Inverness, Mississippi and a resident of Mobile passed away Wednesday March 16,2016 surrounded by family and close friends . Mr. Irvin retired from the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant at Sheppard Air Force base in Wichita Falls, Texas after 21 years of service in The Philippines Alaska both the Korean and Vietnam wars .
Mr. Irvin was employed as a sales representative at Matthews Electric Supply for over 25 years and with Federal Express for 10 years. He was a long time loyal member of Creekwood Church of Christ and served as Deacon, Elder as well as donating much of his time, talent and efforts to his beloved church. He showed kindness and compassion for guests and his legacy will continue to be an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Irvin is survived by the love of his life Martha Bell Irvin of 66 years, his children Marvin "Marty" Earl Irvin (Angie), and Sarah Irvin Helton and his son in law Joseph Randell Helton. Grandchildren Matthew Joseph Helton, Ashton Kelly Irvin, Phillip Tyler Irvin, as well as many other relatives and friends . A special thanks for their extended love and compassion for Mr. Irvin include Darian Chandler, Janelle Fowler, Karen Gregson RN , Linda Lee RN, David Sargent and the staff at Alabama Hospice Care. The family would also like to especially thank Clyde Chandler and Bubber Tew for being the best friends and support group that one could ever have.
Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Irvin would be welcomed at Creekwood Church of Christ in Mobile Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held at Creekwood Church of Christ in Mobile, AL at12:30 on Monday March 21st. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 until the service hour. A private family ceremony will be held at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Spanish Fort Alabama following the service. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
