Mary Louise Cherry

Mary Louise Cherry, a longtime resident of Mobile, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, S.A. Cherry. She was the office manager and bookkeeper for the local VFW Post 49 for many years and was instrumental in the process of seeking medical care for many veterans. Mary loved God and her country, and was especially fond of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. She is survived by her sons, Sherman (Sandy) Cherry and Bill Cherry, both of Mobile; three grandchildren, Angie Harris of Mobile, Andy (Louise) Cherry of Kingsport, TN and Will Cherry of Mobile; great grandchildren, Louise (Louie), Shelton, Abigail and Anna Clason; nieces and nephews from Mobile, Florida and Texas. She will be laid to rest at a private family graveside service to be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Wednesday. Arrangements under the direction of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Mobile, AL.
