Mary Ruth Overstreet Dees

Mary Ruth Overstreet Dees – a 77 year-old native of Lucedale, MS and longtime resident of Mobile passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012. She was the former longtime owner of Dees Realty and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mobile. Her joy in life was her grandchildren. Mrs. Dees was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Opal Morgan Overstreet; brother, James Overstreet; and husband of 42 years, Capt. Durward Belmont Dees, Sr. She is survived by her children, Durward B. Dees, Jr. (Lori) and Marin D. Muncaster (Charles); sister, Maxine Cochran; grandchildren, Emily Ruth Muncaster, Charles Andrew Muncaster, and Daniel Chase Dees; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 7, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
