Mary Catherine Mezo Santa Cruz, 64, was born December 19, 1956 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Herman Albert and Frances May Burris Mezo. She passed knowing her family was with her in spirit on May 17, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. Mary was always a hard worker dedicated to helping provide for her family. She worked in management for CVS for many years. Mary was very well loved not only by her CVS family but her customers as well. She could take apart a computer and rebuild it without hesitation, self-taught, Mary was very techy and loved gadgets. She had a light that shined so bright, others were drawn to her. Mary enjoyed helping others and lived her life putting others first. She loved to travel and was always up for a trip. She will be remembered for her love for everyone. The only strangers are people Mary had not met yet.
She loved her family; as her youngest granddaughter Lillie would say, I love you more than all the numbers.
Mary was preceded in passing by her parents; one sister; Phyllis Faye Singley and a son-in-law; Christopher Walley.
Left to cherish Mary’s beautiful memories will be her beloved husband of fifty years; Paul Steven Santa Cruz, four children: Leslie Bradley and husband Keith, Dena Paul and husband Adam, Norman Fagan and wife Alecia, Ashley Walley, two siblings: Otis Glen Burris and wife Linda, Sharon Sue Stafford and husband Gene, ten grandchildren, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be Shawn Fagan, Isaiah Fagan, Kevin Stafford, Buddy Stafford, Timmy Stafford, Keith Bradley, Adam Paul and Rowdy Burris.
The family would like to extend the sincerest gratitude towards the staff at Mobile Infirmary for the care and compassion providing during their time of need.
