Mary Anne Wall died Monday morning September 29th after a hard-fought struggle with cancer. She was the daughter of Captain Joseph Ollinger and Mrs. Helen Ollinger of Mobile, Alabama. Mary Anne made her mark in Baldwin County where she taught severely disabled children for many years. A graduate of the University of South Alabama and the University of Alabama, she crisscrossed the county to reach the underserved populations that she served with compassion and dedication. After retiring from Baldwin County, she continued by teaching at The Arnold School in Mobile where again, she served those students who needed her specialized skills and attention.
In this second retirement she enjoyed sewing, weaving, quilting and needlepoint. She also loved her gardens and was never happier than when she was “digging in the dirt.” She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Helen Ollinger; her siblings, Joseph (Joey) Ollinger and Lyn Franklin (Carter). Her children, Catherine Wall and Julius Wall (Caroline) will miss her active gifts of time and talents, as well as her steadfast love. She will be remembered at the 8:00 (am) Mass at Christ the King on Saturday, October 4, 2025. All are invited to this celebration and a short reception after the Mass.
Any Memorial gifts may be given to the American Cancer Society.
