Mildred Regina (Kelly) Karcher

A devout Catholic, loving mother and grandmother, known for her warm spirit and cherished family traditions, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on February 19, 2025 in her beloved hometown of Mobile Alabama.

Born on July 8, 1930, she was the daughter of Alma Zimlich Kelly and Thomas Lawrence Kelly, Sr.

Millie was a proud 1948 graduate of The Visitation Academy. She retired after many years as a bookkeeper for The Mobile Bar Pilots, LLC. She enjoyed crafting, puzzles and playing games with her grandchildren, especially Yahtzee. Her much anticipated festive Christmas Tree Cookies were well-loved by all. An active member of St Dominic Catholic Church, she dedicated her time to volunteering for The Little Sisters of the Poor Auxiliary and The Visitation Monastery

Ms Karcher was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Andrew Zimlich Kelly, James Joseph Kelly, Thomas L.Kelly, Jr and William P. Kelly; three sisters, Mary Catherine Kelly Vella. Dorothy Kelly Gilbert, and Alma Theresa Kelly and by her grandson Joshua Andrew Karcher. Millie is survived by her three children, Victoria Karcher West (Robert), Robert Allen Karcher,Jr., Stephen Michael Karcher (Cheryl). Grandchildren Michael Smith, Katherine Karcher Clarke (Steven), Lacey Smith McLean (Sam), Brigette West Crawford (Adam) and Benjamin Asher Karcher. Eight Great-grandchildren, Braxton, Hunter, Logan, Lexie, Rylee, Bailey, Maeve and Rhys. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Many thanks from the family is given to Miss Millie's caregivers, Shandaletta, Annette, Paris and Curtiece and to Gentiva Hospice.

A visitation for Mildred will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1621 Boykin Boulevard, Mobile, Alabama 36605. A rosary will occur Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
