

On December 10, 2013 at 9:16 PM, Saint Peter opened Heaven’s golden gates to a new angel. Mildred Olene Dunaway McGraw. She is now free of pain and is rejoicing with her husband, mother, father, brother and sisters. Mildred was born November 4, 1923 in Morgan City, Mississippi, to Joel and Julia Dunaway. She has resided in Mobile since 1943. She enjoyed cooking and baking, with a talent for making delicious cuisine, playing dominoes with her friends and eating breakfast with friends at their favorite Hardee’s. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind, selfless woman who loved her family more than anything. She was a devout Christian woman and was a longtime member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Stephens McGraw, Jr., her parents, Joel and Julia Dunaway, her brother Clyde Dunaway and her sisters Ruth Dunaway Eubank and Nellie Dunaway Peeler. She is survived by her sister Regina Dunaway Wright, her three children, Eleanor McGraw Kight of Magee, Mississippi, Romona McGraw Leslie (Steve) of Madison, Mississippi and Alexander Stephens McGraw III of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, her three grandchildren Rhonda Williamson of Dallas, Texas, Stephanie Leslie Stevens (Richard) of Madison, Mississippi and Julie McGraw Evans (Brian) of Mobile, and her five great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Austin Williamson of Dallas, Texas, Addison and Ayden Stevens of Madison, Mississippi and Barrett Evans of Mobile.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 6040 Three Notch Road in Mobile. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13 at 3:00 PM with the burial ceremony immediately following at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
