Monroe Jordan

Monroe Jordan - age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours, Monday, July 16, 2012. Monroe was born and lived most of his life in Mobile, Alabama where he was a Captain for the Mobile Fire Department. He retired from the fire department in 1989 after 39 years of service. Monroe was a member of Orchard Baptist Church for most of his adult years. In recent years, he and his wife moved to Birmingham, Alabama where they became members of North Shelby Baptist Church. Monroe was preceded in death by his parents Doss and Ruthie Howell Jordan; 5 brothers, John, Frank, Curtis, Bill and Norman; and 1 sister, Mary Jordan Smith. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Earline Loper Jordan; 3 children, Debbie Navas (Luis), Melanie Hassell (J.R.), Steve Jordan; 4 grandchildren, Abby Randall (Joseph), Becca Hassell, John Hassell, Jordan Navas; 1 sister, Esther Jordan Ingle; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18 beginning at 9:00 am at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama with the service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
