

Lt. Cmdr. Norman Kenneth Berry, USN Ret. - a 91 year-old native of San Francisco, CA, former resident of Mobile and current resident of Fairhope passed away in Biloxi, MS hospital on Friday, August 9, 2013.
Beginning his career in the United States Navy as an enlistee, he rose through the ranks to retire as a Lieutenant Commander after 26 years of service spanning World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a past president of the Sertoma Club and was named its man of the year in 1991.
Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Spencer Berry and Lillian Hendrickson, and his wife, Christine Berry. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Annette Young Berry; children, Walt Berry (Brenda), Doug Berry (Betty), Sharon Sellers, Linda Crawford, and Ron Berry; stepsons, Terry Young (his close friend and caretaker) and Tony Kollins (Diane); siblings; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; 6 former step-children; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 13, from 5-8 p.m. Interment with full military honors will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West.
