Mrs. Patricia Jean (Ausley) Lord, a native of Geary, OK. and a resident of Mobile, AL since 1975, died peacefully Friday, April 17th, 2015 at her residence. Patricia "Pat" Lord was known as the co-owner and operator, with her husband, of their local, family business, A&A Vaccuum, and was a source of inspiration, strength and support to her family as well as to her many friends and acquaintances. Her petite size, warm smile and twinkling blue eyes, for which she was known, belied the staunch pillar of support she was to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all depended on her quiet strength. Ever busy as wife, mother, business woman and a member of several parish groups, she still found time for creative writing and painting, leaving fine examples of her artistic prowess for her family and friends to enjoy. With heroic determination and the strength that came from her solid, Catholic faith, Pat persevered in life despite the devastating loss of her husband of 52 years. Even though afflicted with several severe heath conditions, she resolved to live each day Our Good Lord gave her to its fullest capacity. As was true of her entire adult life, her final thoughts, prayers, and actions were offered for the benefit of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Choosing the comfort and security of her own home, Our Lord granted her a tranquil death in the arms of her children with her family gathered around her. Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her most beloved husband, Winfred "Chuck" Lord, passing on three years, almost to the day, to join him whom she missed so much. Also preceding her in death were her parents, James Wilburn Ausley and Violet (Shumate) Ausley; one son, Joseph Young Lord; one grandson, Jacob Lord, and her dear sister-in-law and girlhood friend, Earlene Ausley. Mrs. Lord is survived by her brother, Jim Ausley, her six children, Susan Lord Stacy, Michael Lord, Jenny (Steve) Dolan, David (Katy) Lord, Dan (Hallie) Lord, and Tony (Joann) Lord; twenty-eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lord's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. F. Martin Lester, Mandy, Brenda, Mrs. Sullivan and all those in his office at IMC Diagnostic & Medical Clinic, who provided loving and attentive care during the last years of her life, as well as the Mercy Medical Hospice Team, particularly Gary and Margaret who did so much to ease her final days. Special thanks must also be included to Christopher Pharmacy and finally to her friends, Parish Community and the Sisters of The Visitation Monastery who all performed so many acts of love and kindness, never forgetting to include her in prayers. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from St. Dominic Catholic Church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
