

Ray Harrison Miller III, passed away on July 26, 2025 at the age of 81. He was born in Seatle, Washington in 1944 and later moved to Mobile, Alabama from Beaumont Texas in the 8th grade. He attended Sydney Phillips, Murphy High School and entered Marion Military Institute his freshman year. In 1967 he left to serve in Vietnam and upon he reentered The University of Alabama where he graduated with a BS in English. At the University of Alabama he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He married Becky Gray Miller in 1973 and moved to Washington, DC where he worked for Dahlgren Manufacturing Company. In 1975, Ray and Becky moved back to Mobile, where he worked in sales at Lerio Corporation.
Ray was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry as senior warden. He was president of The Country Club of Mobile. He also was a member of several mystic organizations, Ducks Unlimited and numerous boards. Ray was well known for his love of people, sports, music and the church.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harrison Miller, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Becky of 51 years; his twin daughters, Merrill Arendall and Bradley Martens (Charlie); his brother, Bill Miller (Rae Rae); his sister, Merrill Miller; grandchildren, Nancy Arendall, Robert Arendall, Lila Arendall, Charlie Martens and Harrison Martens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 29 at 3:00 pm, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The family will receive family and friends in the parish hall from 1:00 until 2:30pm prior to the service.
In leu of flowers the family requests that any memorial donations be sent to Wilmar Hall.
