Richard Claud Holder

Richard Claud Holder, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born in Laurel, Mississippi. He grew up and lived the rest of his life in Mobile, Alabama. He was predeceased by his parents Sorelle and Janie Holder.

Richard was a graduate of Davidson High School and attended Auburn University before earning a degree from the University of South Alabama. He honorably served in the U. S. Army and later worked as a planner in the shipbuilding industry.

He is survived by his loving wife Martha of 48 years, devoted son Bryan (Stacie), and his cherished grandson Ash.

He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit which was matched by his wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him and for his love of music from gospel to classic rock.

A memorial service will be held at Springhill Baptist Church, Mobile, Alabama, on Friday, May 30, with visitation at 10:00 followed by a memorial service at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Richard’s name to Springhill Baptist Church Foundation or the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation.
