He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Clarence Reed and Vera (Stroecker) Reed.
Richard trained in electronics. He was employed by Speciality Distributors and then Electronic Supply Company until he retired at the age of 70.
He loved boating, water skiing, motorcycle trips with his son Frank, road trips and nature walks with our cousin Marianna Evans.
He loved all animals especially our dog Sue. He cared for gophers, tortoises and was always stopping to rescue turtles out of the street. He loved his neighborhood, all of our neighbors and porch friends.
He was always generous with his time and knowledge.
Special thanks to our neighbors who have been so supportive and generous with their time and delicious food. Also to SAAD’s Hospice for their kind care, along with the skilled and kind staff of 5th floor ICU at USA-Providence Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Baldwin County Animal Shelter or favorite charity.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.
