

died on April 6, 2020 at the age of 85. He was a graduate of Murphy High School, class
of 1951, and was a distinguished military graduate at the University of Southern
Mississippi, class of 1955. He was a Captain in the United States Army Intelligence
and assigned to NATO in Paris, France.
In 1958, he was employed at The Merchants National Bank. In 1973, he was employed
by The Mitchell Company, where, he was in charge of the Real Estate Management
Division and was a member of the Executive Committee. In 1988 he formed Anderson
Management, Inc., a real estate management, development and consulting firm. This
took him to Montgomery for two years where he was in charge of Corporate Operations
for Aronov Realty. Upon returning to Mobile, he was involved in the development,
management and the sale of apartment complexes in Alabama, Florida and
Mississippi. He continued to be active in his company until December 2008.
He was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where he had served as
Senior Warden, Vestry member, Treasurer, School Board member, chaired various
construction and finance committees and served on various other committees.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Wilkins Anderson, two daughters, Angela
(Steve) Hawkins; Patricia (James) Hamrick IV; two step-sons, Chase R. (Leslie)
Laurendine, Jr. and Stephen T. (Kelly) Laurendine. Nine grandchildren, Nicholas,
Meghan and Lauren Hawkins; Kathryn (Scott) Byrd, Elizabeth and Meredith Hamrick,
all of mobile; and Chase, III and Riley Ann Laurendine and Jacob Brasfield, of
Huntsville, and one great grandchild, Claire Harper Byrd.
Memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at a time to be announced.
