Robert E. Carr, better known as Bob to his friends and family passed from this life into Heaven on December 7th, 2020 at age 95. Bob was born on July 18th, 1925. He was WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy June 1943 – July 1946 at Hawaii and Guam and then when on to serve August 1952 – February 1972 in the U.S. Air Force before retiring from his service to our country. During his service, his career allowed him to travel around the world and loved taking pictures of the places he visited. He loved watching baseball and Alabama football. He was preceded in death by his parents Wiley E. Carr, Sr. and Pearl S. Carr, siblings Kathryn C. Ellis, Aline C. Brewton, Lois C. Waddle, Wiley E. Carr, Jr, John P. Carr, and his first wife of 45 years, Joan Carr. He is survived by his 2nd wife of 9 years, Mary E. Carr, sister-in-law Lois Richardson of Houston, TX, two step-sons, and many nieces and nephews along with numerous extended families. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the numerous caregivers and especially Stella Kennedy and Tammy Wallace that cared for him and that he loved. A private family service will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery.
