Robert A. “Bob” Crawford, a native of Lyerly, GA and a longtime resident of Mobile County, AL, died on Saturday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Crawford and Emma Coles, a grandson, Daniel Johnson and a sister, Gerri Thompson. Mr. Crawford was a former Merchant Marine and owner-operator of the Texaco service Station on Cottage Hill at Demetropolis Rd. He later retired from McClendon Trucking Co. as an owner-operator over the road. Bob always had a smile and loved a good joke. He will be missed by many, including one daughter, Kathy (Phillip) Firth; two step-sons, Joseph (Donna) Johnson and James (Cindi) Johnson; ex-wife and friend, Esther Johnson; one brother, Jim (Johanna) Howell; one sister, Betty Fuqua; four grandchildren, Chris (Lisa) Johnson, Kimberly Holloway, Anthony Johnson and Emi Johnson; ten great grandchildren, Sharayah (Beau) Wright, Natalie Carroll, Ethan Jones, Alyssia Johnson, Jade Holloway, Logan Holloway, Gabby Holloway, Payslee Easterly and Preslee Easterly; two great great grandchildren, Benjamin Wright and Corbin Wright and many other relatives. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Theresa Dumlao and Dr. Timothy Hecker. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 PM. Burial will be in Pine Crest West on Snow Rd.
