Roberta “BO” Dowdle Griffis passed away February 19, 2025 at the age of 89. She was born on September 2nd, 1935 in Mobile, Al to the late Allen Byron Dowdle and Etha Mae Dowdle.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, McKenzie R. “Mac” Griffis and her daughter, Brenda Diane May.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia L. Holder; son-in-law, Robbie L. May; grandchildren, Thomas M (Cathy) May, Kellie L (Gregory) Russell, Jonathan W. May, Jacob A May-Smith, Nicholas G. (Isabel) Wiggins, Evan M. Wiggins; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Bo had a very rewarding 20 year career with the YMCA in Selma, Al. Prior to the YMCA, she worked at Beechcraft Aircraft Corporation Craig Field in the interior completion shop.

The family will receive friends at the Pine Crest Funeral Home at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL 36605 on Tuesday February 25th from 1:00 to 2:00 followed by graveside services at Pine Crest Cemetery at 2:00. A catered fellowship will be held in the funeral home immediately after the graveside services
