Aunt Ruth Margaret was a 4th grandparent to me.  For the years she lived in Downers Grove with my Grandmother Ann, she came to every event, holiday, birthday and concert.  My memories of her are filled with endless rounds of Fan Tan, pink nail polish and going up to her room and just visiting. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was so loving.  I will miss her dearly.

Missing my Aunt Ruthie tonight. I am so honored to have been named after her and so lucky to have spent so much of my life with her.

I got to spend my summer when I was younger, running around DC with Aunt Ruthie and Aunt Ginny, and had one of the best times of my life. I am so grateful I got to spend that time with her, and Aunt Ginny. I could never had asked for better guides to the city. 

I find myself truly blessed to be named after this wonderful and caring woman. I can hope I make her and that name proud in the end. You may be gone from this Earth, but never from our hearts. RIP, Aunt Ruthie. We love you and miss you.

More than 18 years ago, Lynn and I named our daughter Margaret in honor of my aunt, Ruth Margaret (Hookham) McCann.  If our Maggie grows up to be even half the woman that Ruth McCann was, then Lynn and I will know she has earned the right to share her name with one of the best people (and perhaps the most die hard Cubs fan) I have ever known. 

RIP, Aunt Ruthie.

My thoughts & prayers are with you.  Aunt Ruthie was a delightful lady.  I am glad I got to know her.

Ruthie was my great aunt and my sons great-great aunt!  She deserved that title, because even though she had many nieces and nephews she always made us feel special.  Last month she sent Valentine cards(with a crisp dollar inside!)to my sons. I will miss you, Aunt Ruthie. However, the memory of your smile will always be with me.

We will miss Aunt Ruthie so much, especially at book club.  You both are always included in my prayers.  Please let me know if I can do anything for you.

Thanks to her namesake, I had the pleasure of sharing Ruthie's smile and genuine good spirit. Thank you, Ruth for sharing your Aunt Ruthie.

So sorry to hear of the death of Aunt Ruthie.  She left so many friends and family members who loved her.  That has to be an indication of a life well lived.  Love and prayers from Trxas

I enjoyed a few lunches with "Aunt Ruthie" and some open houses with her and Ruth Carlson.  She was such a pleasant person and an animal lover.  We will mourn and miss her and I am sure her beloved pets will mourn as well.  My deepest sympathy.

I pray that God will bless and comfort you and your family in the loss of your dear Aunt Ruthie.

Will miss Ruthie at bookclub! She had a quiet way of getting her poing across. Keeping you in my prayers.

Ruth has departed for a better place. It's always sunny and the Cubs always win. (I'm very sure of this because my Dad told me.) We'll all miss her terribly, but she left a massive number of great memories. I'll log in again later with some of them...

We will all lovelingly remember Ruthie, one of the "charter members" of our book club.  We insisted she take one of the most comfortable chairs in the room.  She was always known as a pleasant, heartwarming and genteel lady - and a good listener.  We will miss her and we will support our loved Ruth.

Ruthie died peacefully, in her sleep, on 3/15/2013.  She will be missed as a friend, much loved Aunt and wickedly good Scrabble player!

What a life to celebrate, dear Aunt Ruthie! You lived with joy and being with you was always such fun. I don't know what the Cubs will do without you but I am hoping they honor your loyalty with a World Series win! We can dream, right? We were lucky to have you in our lives and will always hold you close in our hearts.
