Shelby Eugene Simmons

Shelby Eugene Simmons – a 65 year-old native and resident of Mobile passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011. His joys in life included listening to gospel music, singing, and preaching. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Aurelia Simmons, and sister, Althea Adkison. He is survived by four sisters, Leona Robbins (Bob), Jonnie Mullis (Jack), Lucy Goodloe (Carl), and Freda Cross, as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday, January 28, 2011, at 2 p.m. with Daryl Robbins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Allentown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Robbins, John “Bo” Burgess, William H. “Bunky” Smith, Glen Neal, Michael Crenshaw, and John Cross with Bobby Robbins, Jack Mullis, and Carl Goodloe serving as honorary pallbearers.
