Stephen Damian Pitt, age 62, of Irvington, Alabama, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 7, 2026. Born on September 17, 1963, Stephen lived a life marked by hard work, love for his family, and faith in God.
Stephen was a skilled painter by trade, known for his dedication, attention to detail, and the pride he took in his work. Through his hands, he brought beauty and restoration to many homes and businesses throughout the years, leaving behind a legacy not only in craftsmanship but in kindness to those he served.
He was a loving father to his children: Crystal Jean (Joshua) Switzer, Diana Renee Pitt, and Tosha Anne Schmidt. He was a proud grandfather to Crystyn Short, Landon Torres, and Zoey Schmidt, each of whom brought him great joy.
Stephen is also survived by his sister, Angela Pitt Gibbons. He is reunited in heaven with his mother, Rita Mae Cink, his father, William Mitford Pitt, and his brother, Jerry Pitt.
Above all, Stephen was a man who knew the importance of faith. We take comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). His life reminds us of God’s promise of eternal life, where there is no more pain or sorrow.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the hope that they will see him again. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36605. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the Radney Chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow in Pine Crest West Cemetery.
