Thomas Patrick Baines

Thomas was born in Springfield, Illinois to Edwin Lee and Florence Emma Knudtson Baines who were married over 60 years. He attended high school in Virden, Illinois where his father worked for many years and his mother was a caregiver for many children throughout those years.

Thomas was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. While living in Illinois he enjoyed hiking and once moving to Alabama loved the beaches, especially Pensacola Beach where he spent many vacations with family and friends.

Thomas met his forever friend and partner, Tony M. Jones during one of those beloved visits. He was employed for 10 years with Admiral Semmes Hotel and Clarion (Marriott ) Hotel for 8 years as a comptroller. He made many special friendships from both employments.

Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory, his life partner, Tony M. Jones and siblings Tony Lynn Baines (LuAnn), Mark Dennis Baines (Cindy), Michele Baines Robinson(Larry) and Brenda Marie Baines Pepper.

A visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Thomas’s name may be offered to St. Jude’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
