Vernon Nick Gould

Vernon Nick Gould – died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 76. Mr. Gould was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. He was retired from National Gypsum and Mobile Water. Mr. Gould was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Gould; parents, Margaret Alice “M.A.” Gould and George H. Gould; and brother, Charles B. Gould. He is survived by two sons, James E. Cooper, Jr. (Linda) of Mobile and Johnny R. Cooper (Karen) of Houston, TX; sisters, Margaret Travelstead of Montgomery, AL, Janice Hanks of Mobile, Sherry Howell of Houston, TX, and Randie Motes of Mobile; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour.
