Wayne Everett Smith

Mr. Wayne E. Smith – a native of Mobile and resident of Semmes, AL for the past 41 years, passed away at home after a long illness. A graduate of Murphy High School and Spring Hill College, Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Wayne is survived by one sister, Dorothy Gibbs of Pensacola, FL; nieces, Rachel Taylor of Andalusia, AL and Rebecca Kucala of Virginia; and his longtime companion, Ronald Feuerlein. A memorial service will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Entombment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mobile SPCA, 620 Zeigler Cir. W., Mobile, AL 36608.
