Rev William Carter

Reverend William Thomas “Tom” Carter, born on September 5, 1935 in Montgomery, AL, passed away in his home in Mobile, AL on December 21, 2016. Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Patsy Pritchett Carter, father John Boyd, stepfather Joseph Graham Brunson, and brother Gerald Eugene “Gene” Carter

Tom is survived by his mother Frances Turnipseed Carter Brunson of Mobile, AL and his two children, Frances Carter Thomason (Stephen), Tampa, FL; Vann Carter, Birmingham, AL; and grandson Kyle Cuevas, Tampa, FL.

Tom graduated from Howard College in 1957. He then attended the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY for his Master of Divinity and Master of Religions Education Degrees.

In his 40 years of ministry at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Tom was special to the many members constantly showing God’s love. He was a testament of what a servant of God should be. He loved to minister to people, especially senior adults. Tom loved the church for being a caring, loving, serving, and traditional church. He was a blessing to everyone’s path he crossed and a prayer warrior for so many.

A memorial service of celebration will be hosted at 2 p.m. on January 5, 2017 at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, AL. Visitation will begin at noon prior to the memorial service.
