Winston A. “Rusty” Gentry – a 75 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Rusty attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, and Murphy High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Alabama and worked as a chemist at Ciba Geigy for 25 years. He enjoyed being on the water, shrimping, boating, and fishing. Rusty was a “Jack of all Trades” and could build or repair almost anything. He routinely tackled all manner of projects from boat repair to wharf building. Rusty loved Mardi Gras and was an active member of a prominent mystic society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston Arbo and Mary Claire Leslie Gentry; sister, Debbie Gentry; and daughter, Mary Theresa Gentry. Rusty is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Virginia Sauls Gentry; son, Timothy Brian Gentry; sisters, Mary Cottingham and Sharon McLean; other relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation at 3:00 PM until time of Celebration of Life service at 3:30 PM held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Immediately following services, the family would like everyone in attendance to join them for further celebration in the Rue Dauphine room of Radney Funeral Home.
