Wordlaw Ramsey Stuart IV passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on June 8th, 2022 following a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. A devoted husband, father and family man, Law is survived by his wife Lisa Delaney Stuart, his daughters, Ella Katherine Stuart, Maddie Broughton, Libby Jacobs, Anna Kathryn Jacobs, and loyal lab Sadie. “My girls” as he lovingly called them, were a tremendous source of pride and joy for Law.
Law is also survived by his Parents, W. Ramsey and Kathy Stuart, sister Meredith Stackpole (Mitch), and a host of family and friends.
Born August 11, 1973, Law graduated from Murphy High School in 1991 and received his B.S. in Business from Auburn University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Following college, Law spent several years in New Orleans, LA working in the transportation industry before heading to Boulder, CO where he worked various jobs, and enjoyed life in the great wild west.
In 2001, he returned to Mobile and joined South Alabama Brick Company, Inc. in commercial sales. Through hard work and dedication, Law went on to become a principle and CEO of South Alabama Brick Co. Inc.
In addition, he will be sorely missed by his work family at Riley Stuart Supply Co., and South Alabama Brick Co.; members of Ashland Place UMC where he served in leadership capacities; and the many friends from all walks of life who will sincerely miss his humble spirit, kind nature and loyal friendship.
An avid outdoorsman, Law was very involved in local conservation efforts through GCCA. For Law, the real joy of any hunting or fishing trip was not the big catch or trophy deer, but the time spent in nature with friends or family. He especially loved spending time in the country with his girls, and fishing the waters around Dauphin Island with his dad.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 on Monday, June 13th at Ashland Place United Methodist Church. Services will begin at 2:00, followed by burial at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Ashland Place UMC Building Fund, or the charity of your choice.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama, 36605.
