Larry Uda-v Hawkins

Larry Uda-v Hawkins, age 79, of Crete, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 29, 2026. He is survived by his loving children: Brian (Jen) Hawkins and Melissa (Jay) Burnett; dear grandchildren: Jase (Karlie) Hawkins, Teagen (Tyler) Futia, Clayton (Hannah) Boender, Gabby (Carson) Maurizi, Seth (Danielle) Hawkins, Torry Maurizi and Izzy Burnett; cherished great grandchildren: Cameron, Baby Futia and Baby Pritchard; siblings: Linda (late Jim) Wisneski and Judy Blevins; best friend, Dave Dunning. Preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Evelyn Hawkins and sister, Ruth Hawkins. Larry attended Eastview Elementary and Central Jr. High in Steger, IL. He graduated from Bloom High School. Larry went on to serve in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver in Vietnam. He retired from Staufer chemical/Innophos in Dolton, IL. He loved to hummingbird watch, calling them his happy birds. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. In his early years, he played softball in various church leagues. Larry also loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park (24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL) from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday June 2, 2026, at Skyline Memorial Park at 10:00 am. For information, please call 708-524-8256
