He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Sheila Padua; children, Kris Ebbeler and Rocky Varkalis; grandchildren, Cody Ebbeler and Scott Ebbeler; and his siblings, Karen Waranosky, Michael Padua, and Tony Padua. Richard is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Richard retired after a long career as a truck driver. He cherished fishing and annual trips to Disney World with his wife. Together, they enjoyed traveling to the Badlands, Yellowstone National Park, and spending time at their vacation home in Florida. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL. Rev. Frank Pusateri officiating. A private interment will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
