

Thomas “Tom” Paris, age 64, passed away on May 7, 2026. Tom dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting others, working in positions such as Firefighter/Paramedic with the Homewood Fire Department, Director of Security at Arcelor Mittal Steel in East Chicago, and Onsite Medical Representative at Amazon in Joliet. He was a steadfast advocate for Veterans and First Responders and a proud member of the Patriot Guard. He loved riding his motorcycle and was honored to participate in Patriot Guard missions supporting our nation’s veterans and their families.
Tom was a devoted husband who lovingly cared for his wife, Kathy, throughout her battle with cancer, remaining by her side with devotion and deep compassion. His quiet strength during her illness reflected the depth of his character and the love he carried for her.
Tom cherished his dog, Ruger, and spent countless hours walking through the neighborhood, greeting friends and striking up conversations, often pausing at a favorite local bar along the way. Known for his sharp sense of humor he brought laughter and energy to family gatherings and social events. Tom will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Jeff (Catie) Paris; granddaughters, Addison and Scarlett Paris; father, Charles Paris; sister, Terri (Ryan) Lollis and nephew, Ryan Ullsmith and was proceeded in death by his wife, Kathy Paris and mom, Audrey Paris.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at St. Liborious Catholic Church (71 W. 35th St., Steger, IL) with Mass immediately following.
