Adela C. Mendez

She is survived by daughters Georgina M. Salls (husband Roger D. Salls) of Stratford, Connecticut, Nancy A. Mendez of Monroe, Connecticut and Connie Perry (husband Donald Perry) of Selma, North Carolina, nephew Humberto Calzada Mireles of El Paso, Texas and grand-daughter Georgina L. Salls of Stratford, Connecticut.

She is preceded in death by parents Humberto and Consuelo Calzada, brothers David and Humberto Calzada, husband George L. Mendez, and son Jose Guillermo Gutierrez.

She was born December 19, 1931 in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to the United States in 1964. Adela was a long time resident of Norwalk, Connecticut. She was formerly a kindergarten teacher in Mexico and an Electronic Assembly Technician for Measurement Systems for many years in the United States.

The viewing hours are Monday, September 26, 2016 between 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son located at 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, Connecticut, with private burial on Tuesday September 27, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
