Ann was born in Shelton, CT, in 1925 to John and Cora Aldo. She married Alfred in 1953, and together they lovingly raised their family.
She was employed for many years by the W.E. Bassett Co. until her retirement in 1986. Ann loved caring for and cooking for her family, tending to her garden, and enjoyed trips to the casino with her sisters. She was especially proud of her work with the Women’s Guild at her church, where she made rosary beads and helped support the parish food bank.
Ann and Alfred enjoyed their early retirement years in Florida and Georgia before returning to Connecticut to be near their family.
She is survived by her four children: Alfred Persano (Linda) of Georgia; Cora Blanck (John) of Shelton; Thomas Persano (Kim) of Beacon Falls; and Peter Persano of Derby. She was the proud grandmother of Jonathan and Christine Blanck, and Leah Persano.
Ann was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; her five brothers—Harold, Charles, Frank, John, and Joseph Aldo; and her sister Dorothy Blanko. She leaves behind one sister, Lilian McGuire, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Ann’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Church in Shelton. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 50 Fairmount Pl., Shelton, CT 06484.
