Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the beloved daughter of the late Americo and Isabel Costa. Arminda was a graduate of Central High School and continued her education at Sacred Heart University and St. Vincent’s School of Nursing before beginning her family.
She dedicated much of her professional life to People’s Bank, where she worked for 30 years, serving as a Branch Supervisor before transitioning into accounting. She was known for her genuine care for customers and the many people she helped throughout her years at the branch.
Mindy found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. She loved taking short trips—especially to Newport—as well as camping and attending Yankee games, where time with family meant everything to her. Above all, she found her greatest happiness in caring for others. Whether through her cooking, her baking, or the way she welcomed others into her home, she had a special gift for making people feel comfortable and cared for. To know her was to be surrounded by warmth, comfort, and genuine love.
At the center of her life was her family. She shared nearly 53 years of marriage with her devoted husband, who lovingly and selflessly cared for her throughout the years. Affectionately known as Mima, her grandchildren meant everything to her, and she took immense pride and joy in each of them. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through them.
While her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her life is one to be celebrated—defined by kindness and the many ways she touched the lives of others.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Santos; her children, Steven Santos (Rachel) and Diana Guerra (Edward); her cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Jackson Guerra, Logan and Lincoln Santos; her brother, Armando Costa (Dina); her sister, Maria Ramos (Emilio); her sister-in-law, Louisa Albuquerque; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories and traditions she leaves behind.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, April 7th, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468. A Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road, Bridgeport, CT 06608.
Her greatest legacy is the love she gave, which will live on in her family forever.
